A Certificate of good conduct is mandatory and referees details must be provided before a guard is offered employment. In addition, a guard has to meet the other requirements e.g. must be a holder of a form four certificate with a mean grade of D Plain, must be able to speak both English and Kiswahili. It is after the individual successfully completes a 4week training course that the company accepts to employ the guard.
Supervision
Our guards are supervised twice per shift by motorcycle riding supervisors who are equipped with checklist to be signed by the guards on duty and themselves to ensure that the guards are alert and discharging their duties as required.
The supervisors are also provided with handled (VHF) portable radio receivers, which they use to communicate with the control room to give reports on the situation on the ground.
Senior Management staff also conducts spot checks regularly.
